The Night Before Christmas

This is my weeks entry for

This piece gave me pause. With Christmas only weeks away it is so easy to get caught up in all the hype. I wanted to keep this piece simple in theme. An old cottage window, the Depression era cup & plate, unadorned wheatmeal biscuits, a simple red bow, a candle and some holly. Finger paintings on the frosty window add a touch of innocence showing that despite the lack of finery, the true gift of Christmas is family.
