Bugger!

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 1, 2007, 7:00 PM

Sorry folks, I've been off air this week due to my hard-drive crashing. YAY! More money :(  Was lucky enough to save my files thank goodness but nevertheless I'm now $200 out of pocket.

I have a million messages to follow up so bare with me. :D

I swear that I had no idea what to do with myself, not having my computer around. I even resorted to doing that dirty word 'housework', I was so bored!  So hopefully once I settle back in I can start creating again and the house will descend once more into organised chaos :D

Oooh, I've also just inquired into a local Medieval Guild group which meets at the showground every few weeks. Not sure if I'll be able to do it though, with the kids so young.  Hubby certainly isn't into these sorts of things and will think a screw has suddenly come loose if I start parading around in medieval garb   Still sounds like lots of fun. They have the usual things going on like archery, sword fighting, cooking, and other trades, etc.  Might go along and have a bit of a squizz anyway.

Well, that's about it. Better go and check my messages :D

Here are some of my favourite Deviations using my stock

I owe so much to this incredible artist. :iconrenilicious: introduced me to the world of photomanipulation. Not only is Ren an incredible artist, she is also a very talented photographer AND Beader. Go and check out her stunning gallery.

You wouldn't mind sending me any info you get on the medieval group would you?
I've been meaning to get involved in it for over a year! I saw the re-enactments at the show last year, it was awesome :D

Haha.. we could join together!

Its a good thing you had all your files saved! We thought our computer was going to crash a while ago, and had to backup all the files, my user had the most space used up.. (like 8gb or something )

Sure thing :D I'll note you with some info from the email I received. If I do decide to do it perhaps I could pick you up on the way through. Not sure how I'll go though as hubby works Sat/Sun every 2nd weekend (we have our own business ) so child minding is difficult at the best of times :D

That'd be great if you could pick me up (though I'd have to get it past mum and dad).

I usually get Saturday shifts at work... but hopefully it'll all work out. :P

Of course. Perhaps your mum or dad could take you the first few times. I'm happy to have a chat so they can get to know me :D

Sounds great ^_^
I think Dad was wanting to go as well.. he knows most of the people there :P So he can take me the first few times :D

Hehe.. I'm excited! I just love anything medieval! My friend laughed at me when I told her I wanted to join, but once I get started she'll be feeling jealous. :P

Medieval re-enactment is FUN! Ooh, if you do do it, try going for 11th-12th century garb...SO comfy, and so fun! (Tends to get in the way a little though, when fighting and doing archery. I tend towards 16th century garb for that.)

It tends to get a tad expensive though, unless you can find really cheap fabric places (or find someone to make the garb for you, if you're not up to sewing with the kids around.)

It really is fun - I started just doing fighting and a little garb making....now I'm a fighter, an archer, scribe, minstrel, weaver (tablet weaving), seamstress....yeah, it gets a bit addictive...hehe! I think I might annoy my housemates a little with my constant singing of medieval songs and filks....

OOOh ... I'll have to drop you a note if/when I decide to join to get some pointers :D I've been told they make their own costumes so I'd assume they'd have patterns, etc? I have no idea what 11th, 12th or even 16th century garb looks like. Maybe I'd better do a google ;) Have dabbled in a bit of chainmaille (jewellery). It's so addictive, so who knows. Maybe I'll end up learning the sword  and making my own maille :D
